“Showcasing the value of attention to detail, this dramatic Kitchens by Matric project is a stylish and contemporary addition to this Melbourne home.
The clients approached Kitchens by Matric with a strong idea of what they wanted the kitchen to look like. With her industrial design background, designer Anita Sweeney was able to achieve the level of detail required to fulfill the client’s brief.
As well as a sleek modern aesthetic, the clients wanted the design to be practical and full of storage, without being too busy.
To achieve this, Kitchens by Matric employed minimal use of overhead cabinets, instead using large deep Blum TANDEMBOX drawers. The Polytec ‘Shannon Oak’ doors and panels in a matte finish are handle-less, creating a clean, streamlined look. The Kitchens by Matric team worked closely with the builder to achieve the bulkhead and nib wall design feature around the refrigerator and pantry cabinetry.
A preparation zone on one side of the kitchen allows for food storage and preparation, as well as coffee-making. LED strip lighting under the overhead cabinetry allows the clients to make a cup of tea at night without having to switch on all of the kitchen’s lights. The deep Caesarstone ‘Shitake’ benchtops provide ample bench space and allow for maximum storage. The Caesarstone benchtop has been continued as the splashback behind the stovetop.
As well as the kitchen, the company also renovated the home’s bathroom and walk-in-wardrobe. ….”
